Ogier and VW extend WRC lead

Volkswagen Motorsport celebrated a fifth World Rally Championship win on 3 August when series leader Sebastien Ogier literally flew to victory in the Rally of Finland at the wheel of his dominant VW Polo R.

The high speed forest sections provided thrilling viewing for the spectators as this photograph of an airborne Ogier clearly shows.

Ogier has assumed a clear lead in the 2013 WRC drivers’ series with four  outright victories to the one achieved by team mate Latvala, reinforcing Volkswagen’s hugely successful  foray into the top level of world rallying.
